Frozen Pipes Season Impacts Businesses Too

Many pipes do not have proper insulation to prevent them from freezing in cold weather.

Here are a few tips to try to help your business during winter weather season:

  • Shut off any outside water sources that you don't need, especially if you are expecting particularly low temperatures.
  • Open cabinet doors under sinks and in storage areas.
  • Try to insulate with towels or other wrappings overnight when the business will be closed.

These tips can be used to help prevent frozen pipes in your home or business.

What to do if your pipes are already frozen?

Hairdryer – This is one of the safest and most effective ways to thaw a pipe.

Space heater – A small heater can work much faster than a hairdryer. Simply direct the heater toward the frozen area of the pipe.
